The Landscape We Made is my first in a series of essays about photography. Starting with the early representations of wilderness and moving through the New Topographics movement, industrial landscapes and the relationship between place and memory, this essay asks will ask readers to reconsider what a landscape photograph can actually be about.

Featuring discussions on the work of photographers including Ansel Adams, Robert Adams, Richard Misrach, Joel Sternfeld, Mitch Epstein, Edward Burtynsky and Sally Mann, alongside my own original photographs.
